“Greater Indiana” law signed by Governor of Indiana last week
The new law creates an Indiana-Illinois Boundary Adjustment Commission to analyze and propose action. It can do this without waiting for Illinois to act.
Although Illinois officials dismissed this law this year, a debt crisis could force Illinois to reconsider the option, as relocating state lines could provide an immediate influx of cash for paying off maturing state bonds. Moving the state line could provide that influx because even if Indiana isn’t willing to pay anything for these counties, still it makes sense for these counties to bring part of Illinois’ debt with them. Because if you divide the Indiana state debt by the number of Hoosiers you get a certain amount. If Illinois counties took that amount of debt per person into Indiana, it wouldn’t change the debt per Hoosier, but it would be a sudden influx of money for northern Illinois.
This blog, Red-State Secession, was the first to propose relocating this state line, and the first to publish an analysis of it and popularize it on social media. The passage of this law is a testament to how the work of a tiny team can influence state politics.

Louisiana sovereignty bills that might ease the transition to independence
Get on the email list of Free Louisiana to learn how Louisianans can take action now to help 3 great bills. Or at least follow them on X or on Facebook.
Texas sovereignty bills that might ease the transition to independence
The Texas Sovereignty Act, HB 796, passed the Texas House 94-53 after failing several previous years, and is now headed to the State Affairs Committee. If it passes, the law could be used to legitimize resistance against feds to provoke TEXIT via escalating tit-for-tat with the feds. Or during the process of independence, it could be used to jail feds who try to interfere with TEXIT.
Texans should contact the committee, especially the chairman Bryan Hughes, and also the President of the Texas Senate, Lt. Gov Dan Patrick to simply say that you support the bill. In case it passes the committee, contact your own Texas Senator in Austin.
Do you want your checking account backed by gold, not paper money?
HB 1056 has passed the Texas House 89-45 and is headed to the Texas Senate Finance Committee. Here’s a great article that explains how it would allow you to have your debit card (and checking account) backed by real gold in the Texas repository with your name on it, instead of paper money.
Texans should contact the committee, especially the chairwoman Joan Huffman, and also the President of the Texas Senate, Lt. Gov Dan Patrick, to simply say that you support the bill. In case it passes the committee, contact your own Texas Senator in Austin.
Similar bills passed in Arkansas, Florida, and Missouri this year, and are in play in Louisiana and elsewhere this session. Can non-residents get a gold debit card through one of these states?
Alberta secession movement surging
The premier of Alberta said Monday in an address that she will accept the will of the people if they vote to secede from Canada, and she will put the question on the 2026 ballot if the requisite signatures are gathered. She is trying to pass a bill that will make it easy to put questions on the Alberta ballot.
Since a Liberal was elected PM of Canada last month, interest in Alberta secession on X has increased greatly. However, the only poll since the election on this issue was very disappointing. A poll of Albertans years ago showed 50% support for independence, but support has ebbed and flowed greatly over the years.
55 of Trump’s Decisions have been blocked by federal judges
The solution is not in DC. Focus on Texas & Louisiana state politics, so that one of these states can lead the red states out of the Union within the next few years!
